Post #34:  Is It Really March?

Last week, on Monday night, I was reading to the boys, when Ian noticed my diamond in my wedding ring was gone. A few moments later, Addison said, “Mom, I want to pray.” And then he prayed the sweetest prayer that my gem would be found.

In the morning, I was sweeping the floor, when I stopped myself before dumping the dust in the trash. I looked through what I had captured in the dustpan, but there was nothing there. Then I threw up a quick prayer, “Lord, if that diamond is in this flat, please help me to have eyes to see it!” As I let the dustpan down, something right in front of my toes on the floor caught my eye. I took a close look, and sure enough, where I had just swept, was my diamond. Amazing! Addison's faith got a boost when he heard the great news.

Later, Rachel said, “Can we pray for my watch, because I can't find it?” We did, and a few days later, as I was making my bed, I found her watch stuck between the sheets and blankets. She was also amazed. God is so faithful!

On Friday, the 29th, Dave took the day away from work, though he did work solidly in his “office” here (a table in our bedroom) all morning, and we had hoped to go somewhere in the afternoon. The clouds rolled in, however, so we ended up staying put. The kids and I rented some movies on Thursday, so we watched Cheaper by the Dozen 2, instead of going out.

Saturday morning, I had the pleasure of jogging with a new friend, Johnna, whom we met at the park the other day. I drove over to Swieggi at 7:15 and we jogged along dirt roads near some interesting rock quarries. Fun to have a running partner here in Malta! Thanks, Johnna!

After lunch, the whole family went for a tour of the western shoreline, near the ancient temples. The temples didn't interest us nearly as much as the amazing cliff-side views, and the kids enjoyed hiking along goat trails, and climbing up some rocky ledges. (See web album). It was cooler and windy, so we didn't hang out real long.

We drove down to the little town of Ghar Lapsi and took some pictures of the neat cliffs there. We do have to go back there on a sunny day, as it was a very neat place. They have boat rentals there, we assume to tour the shoreline where there are other grottos. Perhaps they even cruise down as far as the Blue Grotto from there. It's not all that far; nothing in Malta is all that far!
